"I'll study when I get home." No, you won't. You'll be tired, hungry, and covered in sawdust. To pass the ISA exam while working full-time, you need a default schedule.

The "5-Day Split" Template

This schedule assumes you work M-F. It gives you weekends mostly off (except for one big session).

Monday: The "Input" Day (45 mins)

  • Goal: Learn new material.
  • Activity: Read 1 chapter of the Study Guide. Highlight key terms.
  • Checklist:
    • [ ] Read Chapter.
    • [ ] Answer Workbook Questions at end of chapter.

Tuesday: The "Recall" Day (30 mins)

  • Goal: Memorize terms.
  • Activity: Flashcards. Review the bold words from yesterday's chapter.
  • Checklist:
    • [ ] Review "New" Flashcards (10 mins).
    • [ ] Review "Old" Flashcards (10 mins).

Wednesday: The "Scenario" Day (45 mins)

  • Goal: Apply knowledge.
  • Activity: Take a 30-question diagnostic quiz.
  • Checklist:
    • [ ] Complete Quiz (no notes!).
    • [ ] Log errors in notebook.

Thursday: Rest / Light Review

  • Goal: Avoid burnout.
  • Activity: Listen to an arbor culture podcast or review 5 flashcards while cooking dinner.

Friday: Rest (Date Night)

  • Goal: Mental health. No studying.

Saturday morning: The "Deep Work" Session (90 mins)

  • Goal: Tackle the hard stuff.
  • Activity: Focus on your weakest domain (e.g., Soil science). Draw diagrams. Watch videos.
  • Checklist:
    • [ ] Deep dive into 1 weak concept.
    • [ ] Re-take the questions you missed on Wednesday.

Sunday: Logistics & Prep

  • Goal: Set up next week.
  • Activity: 15 minutes planning.
  • Checklist:
    • [ ] Pick the domain for next Monday.
    • [ ] Ensure flashcards are ready.

The Study Checklist (Print This)

  • [ ] Did I do active recall (closed book) at least twice?
  • [ ] Did I log my mistakes?
  • [ ] Did I take at least one timed quiz?
  • [ ] Did I take one full day off?

Consistency > Intensity

It is better to study 30 minutes a day than 5 hours once a week. Your brain needs sleep to encode memory.
